Here begins my Reconstruction of Arwen's Requiem Gown, as portrayed in the Return of the King, Lord of the Rings movie trilogy...  My version of Arwen's Requiem Gown is mainly in the thought and gather stages... as I have yet to buy the velvet for the jumper, and the silk for the lower sleeve...   My thoughts on this one started with the trim, and how I will make this trim by using decorative stitches in my machine...   My research on this started at Allecatscratch.com...  Specifically on the Requiem Pages...

Silver Trim Embroidery:
This page was last updated: February 27, 2007
This fabric to the right is a silver black silk velvet, with a paisley burnout, and overdyed with shades of aubergine and indigo... I will use this for a requiem styled cloak.

I've used this velvet for another Elven Gown,  patterned after The Yellow Dress Leaf Collar described at Alleycatscratch.com... There is a specific photo of this dress at Alleycatscratch here   I've named my Aubergine Leaf Collar Elven Gown  Nimrodel's River Gown... You can visit my Construction pages One, Two and Three to see how this gown came together...

Next is the mock-up... and finding those missing silks... and dying my first batch of silk velvet...!
Upper Sleeve Fabric... I will add more beads...
Rayon velvet ... I will not use this, but replace with a self-dyed silk velvet...
Beads...
I recently found some Czech Glass Beads I'll be using in the trims...

Lower Sleeve Fabric...
April 19, 2006:
Lower Requiem Sleeve Fabric... after the dye...
I added a hint of silver/gray to this embroidered silk chiffon...  It's still damp in the photo... So I'm guessing it will dry up lighter...  I used Jacquard Acid Dye, #638, silver gray... I have spelled out the dying instructions on my Arch Dress Construction Page...

Here are some photos after it has dried, compared to another silk chiffon fabric I have, that was the same shade of white as this one above before the dye... The dye came out very subtle, and is exactly what I was looking for...
